Introduction

Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) examines the environmental impact of a system throughout the whole of its life.

The Cement & Concrete Association of Australia commissioned the Department of Public Works and Services (DPWS) of NSW to conduct a series of case studies to demonstrate the use of LCA as a tool for assessing and comparing building material products and whole buildings over their entire life cycle. This section presents these case studies.
