Yantrasast here for C+A TALKS '11 Kulapat Yantrasast, the architectural visionary behind the internationally acclaimed Grand Rapids Art Museum, is coming to Australia to deliver the 2011 C+A TALKS.
Yantrasast is the founder and principal of Los Angles-based design practice, wHY Architecture, described by Newsweek magazine as one of the most innovative architectural practices of the new generation. Click here for more information about Kulapat Yantrasast.
Opened in 2007, the Grand Rapids Art Museum is the first new art museum in the world to receive the LEED certification for environmental design.
Other recent and current projects in Yantrasast's portfolio include the expansion and renovation of the Speed Art Museum in Louisville, the oldest and largest art museum in Kentucky; a series of gallery design and collection installation at the Art Institute of Chicago; the Art Bridge at the Great Wall of Los Angeles; the Social and Public Art Resource Center in Venice, California; and the new Tyler Museum of Art in Texas; as well as many residential and commercial projects.
Yantrasast regularly lectures around the world and is being brought to Australia by Cement Concrete & Aggregates Australia (CCAA), the publisher of C+A magazine.
He will deliver the 2011 C+A TALKS in Sydney on May 16, Brisbane May 17, Melbourne May 18 and Perth May 19.
