Abstract:
The Mercedes-Benz Museum in Stuttgart won the Concrete Architecture Award 2008. The building is one of the greatest challenges in European concrete construction due to the futuristic design, geometry and form technology. There is not a single straight angle in the building.
The Museum building contains both extensive reinforced concrete structures that curve in several directions and curved as well as flat concrete surfaces produced pursuant to extremely strict requirements. The entire building design process was implemented utilising three-dimensional 3D design.
