CCAA Council Dinner | Melbourne
Cement Concrete & Aggregates Australia held its second Council Meeting and Dinner of the year, bringing together industry leaders and stakeholders from across the heavy construction materials sector.
Sponsored by Endurax Australia, the dinner provided an opportunity for CCAA Council members and industry leaders to discuss the opportunities and challenges facing the sector.
CCAA was pleased to welcome Matt Vincent, Chief Executive Officer of Resources Victoria, as keynote speaker. Matt outlined the role Resources Victoria plays in supporting the state's extractive resources sector and the importance of maintaining a secure and sustainable supply of construction materials to meet Victoria's future infrastructure and housing needs.
He also highlighted the importance of long-term resource planning, efficient approvals processes and protecting access to strategically important resources that will support growing communities and major infrastructure projects across the state.
The discussion reinforced the critical role construction materials play in supporting economic development and delivering the housing, transport, energy and community infrastructure Victorians rely on. Recent work by Oxford Economics Australia shows the industry contributes $3.17 billion to Victoria's Gross State Product and supports 15,637 jobs.
