Olympic Insights Breakfast | Queensland

On the morning of Wednesday 29 October, a full room of industry leaders gathered at Victoria Park in Brisbane for our second Insights Breakfast of 2025.

Simon Crooks, Chief Executive Officer of the Games Independent Infrastructure and Coordination Authority (GIICA), delivered the keynote address, sharing valuable insights into the scale, vision and coordination behind Queensland’s Olympic build program. Simon also discussed his role in delivering 17 new and upgraded venues in Brisbane and across regional Queensland.

The Games will drive one of Queensland’s largest-ever infrastructure programs, forming part of a record $116.8 billion pipeline, transforming the state in the lead-up to 2032 and delivering long-term benefits for future generations. Cement, concrete and aggregates will be central to this transformation, underpinning the projects that will define Queensland’s Olympic legacy.

A big thank you to AEL Distribution for sponsoring the breakfast.
