CCAA SECURES LONGER TERM FLEXIBILITY FOR AGITATOR DRIVERS

CCAA is pleased to announce the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR) has agreed to a CCAA request to extend provisions of short work breaks for concrete agitator drivers.

These changes come following a two-year trial, and the notice will remain in place for three years.

Concrete Agitator Drivers can (as of 1 January 2019) take a short work break for a period of at least fifteen minutes when their vehicle is stationary, the engine is running and the driver is doing no work other than sitting in the driver's seat.

Drivers are no longer required to carry a copy of the Exemption Notice.

The Notice can be found here. An information sheet for drivers can be found here.

CCAA would like to sincerely thank the NHVR for their collaboration and practical support on this issue.
